Kamusta Jorge? Saan kayo ngyon?
Jorge. Noseblunt
Oof!
Ano yung Notion?
Family.
Saan niyo nakikita sarili niyo in the next 10 years?
Walang iwanan hanggang dulo.
Kevin. First try frontside bluntslide
Worst moment
Pinaka worst talaga yung walang wala na lahat pero we push the dream.
Di kami sanay sa ganon na bail, as in knock out si Ogie.
Ano yung next project niyo?
Kanya kanya na kaming part next project and sana may maayos na kaming camera na gagamitin sa next project gagalingan pa namin. Maraming salamat sa mga nag susupport samin.

A couple months went by. They had stacked a significant amount of footage so we offered to back up the files, but instead they asked us if we could put the video together so that they could just focus on skateboarding and filming. It was a no brainer. It came full circle that day and we ended up editing the video.
We shared the teaser for 'P90' in December.
In January 2023, the Notion boys hosted a skate event in Manila and premiered the 'P90' video.
Without further ado, we proudly present 'P90'
If you want to know more about what went into the making of the video you can read the full interview with Jorge below.
>>You can also read the uncut interview in tagalog <<
Congratulations on the video premiere.
We're stoked that we were able to host it. We didn't expect so many people to attend the event.
What was their reaction?
Feels like they enjoyed. We were really happy to see everybody there.
What can you say about the future of the skateboarding scene in Manila?
Hopefully it gets better for all the skateboarders, and that more skateparks are built for the future generation.
Before we talk about the new video we just wanted to ask about Team Silid, how's the crew?
Everyone's pretty good, doing their own thing, living their lives.
For those that don't know that your footage got lost for the 'homies' video, what happened exactly?
The phone we were using for filming broke. That's why we weren't able to put it together anymore.
Oof!
What is Notion?
It's just our skate family.
Cool! Where do you see yourselves in the next 10 years?
Hopefully Notion becomes a big brand, and for all of us to see it through. This is what we all want anyway. Nobody left behind.
Kevin. First try frontside bluntslide
The video is finally done, this is the first tour video of Notion, what's the difference between this project and your others? Tell us a little about your process.
For this video we just had fun with it. Jerry and I just wanted to make a video part to showcase our talent and look back on it when we're older.
It was just dream for the whole team to be in the video because we didn't have the resources, money, and all that shit, but we pushed to make it happen because we knew that it was worth it. In the end we were all happy.
Jerry. Switch hillbomb
How'd you pick the spots?
We just hit whatever we saw. Wherever our skateboard would take us is where we'd skate.
Were you able to connect with skaters in other cities? Tell us about it.
Yup! We want to thank our friends that let us crash, and everyone we met for welcoming us wherever we were.
We just hitched a ride with whoever to every stop. We found ourselves sleeping on the side of the gas station, or a field or wherever we were when we felt sleepy. But hitchhiking was a little fun. And we were just happy that we were all together.
It's tough being broke when you're out on the road, especially being far away or like when it started raining and you had no choice but to get soaked. We had no choice sometimes because we were on a truck, and it was driving fast and we couldn't get off, but some truck drivers let us sit inside.
Worst moment
The worst thing was just not having having much resources, but again we pushed the dream.
It was also really bad when Ogie bailed on the rail, we didn't think that something like that would happen to us. We're not used to these kinds of accidents. Ogie was knocked out. We didn't know what to do at first because his head was bleeding and his face was a mess.
Best moment
Most of it was awesome, and we'll never forget what we did.
Why is the video called 'P90'?
It's called P90 because the lens we used for filming most of the video cost 90 pesos. I found out about these 90 peso clip-on lenses from the homie, Numz.
So what's your next move?
For the next video, each of us want to work on a full part, and hopefully we have a proper camera to document it. We're gonna do even better this time. Thanks to everyone who supports us.

Yo, we gotta take the power back! - Rage against the Machine
Talk us through how the collab with WIP came about.
I actually started out as a fan of WIP Caps, as I wore the brand daily. I was amazed with the brand's overall quality and aesthetics. To think that it's actually a local brand, I was blown away by its overall make and build.
I realized that your product should be of high quality so that the product will sell itself.
2020 was when I actually exchanged messages with the brand. It went on for a few meetings and finally the collab happened - HGHMNDS x WIP 2022!
Collaborations are vital, as they give people something new and fresh to enjoy. Through them the projects we don't normally do actually materialize. These are the impossible projects that you never thought will happen, but they do.
What do you think is the next big trend here in the PH?
Anything that HGHMNDS does are surefire trendsetters. hahaha Kidding aside, I think brands are veering more towards custom pieces. The types of products that aren't just shirts anymore. From customized polos to pants to jackets that are proudly locally made, there's just so much more slated to happen in the future.
HGHMNDS is one of the top brands, what inspires you guys and did you guys ever imagine the brand would be where it is today.
To tell you the truth we really didn't expect that we'll reach this point of success.
But as we went along, the process taught us so much - this made us love what we do even more. We're inspired to outdo ourselves every year and cover all bases every single time. Success becomes a habit and we intend to keep it that way. Once you embrace that mindset it becomes less of work and more of a labor of love - it just comes out of your work ethic naturally.
What can we expect from HGHMNDS for the rest of 2022?
More releases and more custom pieces that we plan to explore outside our usual scope. Our brand's impact will be felt louder in the days months and years to come.
Tell a friend. HGHMNDS
BIG BIG BIG thanks, dawg, Omar
Months had passed, and one morning Six sent us an untitled Wetransfer link. We pulled it up, and it was the 5 full tracks off their E.P. ‘Mga Kahon Mula Bodega’, which he had produced. Straight up fire! The Railkid is a storyteller, and Six the Northstar’s beats elevate it beautifully.
Six adds, “That’s what I think as a producer, should be all about. Break out the one’s that haven’t been heard yet. Yeah like, he IS dope as is. Needed to like give him a different boost.”
We caught up with CJ aka Railkid to discuss his latest work with Six The Northstar
How was it like working with someone like Six?
Can you take us through the inspiration and process behind this album?
Which track resonates most / most personal / why?
Track number 5.
90s hip-hop is one of the main pillars of our brand - can you say you have influences from that era? Who in particular ?
Gangstarr Foundation, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Soul Assassins, Alchemist and Madlib
Where do you think pinoy hip hop is headed? Which local artists are on your rotation?
Buhay na buhay ang kultura. On my rotation right now was Francis M., DJ Arbie Won, Pamilya Dimagiba.
Any other artists / genres you listen to and lean on for inspiration?
Other genre: new wave, postpunk, soul/funk, jazz, blues, psychedelic rock
Other artist: The Cure, Boy Katindig, Ryan Cayabyab, Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Muddy Waters, Eddie Hazel

A couple of weeks ago their viral facebook video titled "Quaranskate V.2" popped up on our feed. It was relatable, fun to watch (great soundtrack, too!), the tricks and spots were great, and you didn't know what you were gonna see next!
Aside from being left with the feeling of wanting to go out and skate after, we got curious about 'em. We recently hit them up to find out what the deal is with Team Silid.
A Buckshot by WIP :: @TEAMSILID
What is up! I just rewatched QUARANSKATE V.2, and a bunch of the other SILID TAMBAKAN skate clips on social media. Lovin' the stuff!
How long did it take to put together the video QUARANSKATE V.2?
Lloyd : It took almost a year to finish the video despite it only being 3 minutes of skating. I think we started filming clips back in the ‘ber months last year.
Some of the boys were busy with online schooling or hustlin’ to earn money.
How old are these guys?
Around 17-20 years old.
Tell us about the crew involved.
Me, and my High School friend, Alex started Team Silid back in September 2018.
Our crew is composed of around 10 skaters, I think! 🤔 Esh, Chang, Jerry, Jorge, Killua, Sinag, Andrew, Mak, Tom, Von, Ryan, Jiro and a few others.
What do you think TEAM SILID’s biggest influences are?
Our biggest influences are the OG’s here in Sampaloc, and also some pro skaters abroad.
Can you tell us about Silid Tambakan Skate Shop, is this purely online or do you have a physical shop?
We focus more online. Right now we don't have a physical shop.
How much time do you spend on Social Media?
Since I have work, the others manage and answer the PMs and DMs. Especially Alex and Esh.
Not that I’ve seen anything, but do you come across haters online?
Yup, especially when we posted QUARANSKATE V.1 last year.
But they don’t skate so they just can't relate.
I like that the guys skate anything! Encounters with bystanders and pedestrians is normal in skating. I am sure the kids get kicked out of spots a lot, too!
Can you tell us about what happened after the homie hopped over the rail, why’d that old lady on the street throw a rock at him?
I think she was just crazy! We didn’t do anything, we were shocked that she did that! Amazingly, Mak caught the big rock she threw after he landed. 😆
Good one!
What’s next for TEAM SILID?
Right now the crew is filming & collecting clips because we're planning to put out a new video part.
What about Silid Tambakan Shop?
Silid Tambakan will still provide service and skate goods. We’re committed in helping our skate community, especially here in Sampaloc.
In the next 5 years, where do you see skateboarding in the Philippines?
I believe someday we’ll have many Pros, Ams & representatives (in Olympic or international skate competitions) that will raise our flag 🇵🇭 .
If only the Government supported us. I see that skateboarding here is very popular because of the promising talented youngsters.

Working on the set of Star Wars, being star struck with Tom Cruise, and now having his first art show in Manila after two Netflix original films in the past year, we caught up with the good mate, cinematographer and photographer, Lee Jake Mariano, and touched a little on what the art show ‘MEANWHILE’ means to him and his experiences on Hollywood film sets.
A Buckshot by WIP :: @llcoolljm
Congratulations on the show, Lee! Can’t wait to see what you came up with, but before we get more into that, can you tell us what it was like working on a crazy set like Star Wars?
Lee : Working on Star Wars was insane! A dream come true. Any kid growing up in the 70's & 80's was in love with Star Wars! Getting to meet George Lucas, hanging out with Natalie Portman & Hayden Christensen for 3 month, what a cool thing to do. I had the toys, posters, etc. as a kid & to see it in real life was awesome.
What other Hollywood flicks did you enjoy working on?
The other films I loved working on was Charlottes Web, The Quiet American, The Pacific & The Kite Runner. So much fun on these jobs! Amazing friends, crew and the travel. And to work with some legendary Cinematographers was a dream.
Are you allowed to share the worst set you’ve been on?
To be honest all my experiences on set have been amazing! I've never been on a bad set! Hopefully that continues. We aren't curing cancer! We should be enjoying the experience for what it is.
Did you hear about the when the crew of the film Titanic ate pcp-spiked clam chowder? Any crazy or random stories on set you wanna share?
I can share, but not in public! Oh the stories I have...
Can you tell us about the time you met Tom Cruise?
Maverick! Tom Cruise is the man. I don't get star stuck that often, but Maverick, dude! Who doesn't love Top Gun.
I was working on a horror film in Melbourne with Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce. Directed by Guillermo del Toro. Tom was in town coming to visit Katie and Suri. It was such a tense day as we all were waiting for him to come to set. When he arrived you could feel his presence. I was fumbling the equipment, couldn't speak, was very funny at the time. As we were packing up I was heading to the back lane where the camera truck was. As I arrived I see Tom with Suri hanging out at the back of the truck. I didn't know where to look or what to say! I looked at his feet & noticed a box fresh pair of Nike Air Force 1's. All I said was, "Nice Air Force 1's, Tom..." . Then ran away like a giggling school girl!
How did you get into photography?
I got in to photography at a young age. My Mom took up lessons & turned our bathroom into a make shift dark room. She didn't really continue with it so I decided to take it up. I was always a visual kid, loved art class.
How are you going about living and practicing cinematography and photography in Manila?
Its been a fun journey so far! Until the pandemic hit! We came here to experience somewhere new, get out of our comfort zone. I was very fortune to meet such amazing people willing to take a chance on the new guy in town. Two Netflix Original films isn't a bad way to start. In terms of photography I was very fortunate to be included in an amazing group show for the Art Fair 2021 at Secret Fresh Gallery! My first exhibit in the PH. Very excited. Please go check it out!
Can you tell us the back story of the images for your show?
The muse for the images in the show is a girl called Caitlin. She was friends with my niece. Caitlin had such an amazing, vibrant, natural vibe about her as you can see from the images. Was fun to shoot her.
Whose works are you currently digging?
In terms of photography i'm digging Ryan McGinley, Tim Barber, Lina Scheynius and Henrik Purienne. In terms of DOP's, Rina Yang is killing it. Her work is amazing! And from humble beginnings too. Check out her work.
Could you share a story about your connection with Christopher Doyle?
Chris Doyle has been an amazing inspiration from a young age. I was such a big fan of Chungking Express & Fallen Angels!
I was super lucky to work on a film Chris shoot in Vietnam & Sydney called The Quiet American, with Michael Caine & Brendan Fraser. I was so young and green at that time I got he late call up to go to Vietnam as the film was already shooting. I was so excited I didn't even ask who was the cinematographer was. On the plane I open up the package with the script etc, and see Chris was the DOP. I was super excited! We maintained a friendship ever since. We once took out Zhang Ziyi & Zhang Yimou when they were in Sydney after shooting Hero. That was a fun night out!
What's next for LJM?
Who knows with this current climate... Hopefully some more films to come & another art show for August. I’m excited to be in a new place, to challenge myself & get out of my comfort zone.
As Chris Doyle recently said to me, 'Good time to reflect on all that matters and make all the matters what we live for...'

The global pandemic has affected us all. It has impacted families and the lives of Filipino men, women, and children. It has left family members stranded and caused many to lose jobs and ways of livelihood. 2020 was a tough year for everyone, and 2021 is showing no signs of letting up.
Ronnie Jaena, an Ilonggo rapper who knows first-hand what it’s like to be down on your luck, believes tough times should never harden our hearts nor dull our sense of compassion. When he contacted WIP Caps with the idea of visiting Dalayunan: A Home for Boys in Bo. Obrero, Iloilo City, we were more than happy to help.
Dalayunan is a facility for misguided adolescent boys who have made poor life decisions. The word dalayunan is Hiligaynon for “a place to stay,” but the center is so much more. It is also a school and a shelter that provides comfort and protection to its residents.
Ronnie and a passionate group of local musical artists such as Martin, Mayo, Castillo, Pak Tisoy, Sayken Snipes, Onse, Kokok Tor, and a host of others, paid a visit to Dalayunan on May 2, 2021, hoping to inspire young minds and guide them towards positive, non-violent, and law-abiding lives.
The project was met with much enthusiasm. Through songwriting lectures, workshops, and performances, a connection was forged between the artists and residents of Dalayunan.
Tough times should never harden our hearts nor dull our sense of compassion. After all, when all is said and done, don’t we all need a place to stay?

So we put out an announcement with the mechanics and the header "An Event in Loonie's Life that inspired you, your artwork or photograph could be featured in our next collection with Loonie"
Crazy that we received so many submissions!
Photos, untitled works, others with messages for Loonie, and some really unique one's like,
this ketchup and flour on an orange plate, titled in bold "COMEBACK",
by Alyssa Dela Fuente.
And this digital render by Christian G. Bayabay.
All the entries were awesome, and the team and Loonie went through each one.
In the end we decided that we would run with Talia's work and knew that this was something everyone would be pleased to receive together with our FRAGMENTS ll drop, the Loonieverse X WIP Lock Up dad cap.
We recently spoke to the artist behind the artwork of The Bootleg Fragments Tee.
A Buckshot by WIP :: @indiana_talia
How long have you been making art and how did you get into it?
Talia: It’s been 11 years. Drawing was my hobby in Grade 1.
I decided to pursue it when I was in Grade 6. I started watching videos on YouTube and Art Tutorials.
I also joined art contests in different schools around laguna. The most memorable one was for Red Cross International Humanitarian Law where I won first place and beat 40 contenders from different schools. It gave me confidence to pursue my dreams.
Take us through your creative process
I look for inspiration, and figure what I want to do. I’ll start to sketch something, outlines, and the techniques that i put. I also have to be patient and go through the process because it takes time to perfect your work.
Which artists do you look up to?
Fernardo Amorsolo. He’s one of the most important artists historically. I became inspired by him on how to blend colors and how to be realistic.
"Dalagang Bukid" Fernando Amorsolo
And Pablo Picasso. I learned to make portraits because of him.
He had such an impact in the art world.
“Self-portrait” Pablo Picasso
process image from @indiana_talia
So how did you find out about WIP?
I found out through my boyfriend. He loves to collect caps and tees. When he sees something cool he buys it. We like HGHMNDS, WIP, Kush and a few others. We’ve been fans for a long time!
What is your favorite Loonie song?
“Tao Lang” by loonie ft. Quest , Maraming magagandang song si Loonie but this song is very iconic for me, even if it’s old, the impact of the music is still there when you hear it. ❤️
Who should he (LOONIE) collaborate on music with?
I think “SKUSTA CLEE” because they look awesome together.
A combination of RNB and Rap 😄
image from @indiana_talia
What is your fondest memory of Loonie?
The best memory of LOONIE for me is when he mentioned me for my first artwork of him on his FB page and sent me a DM on IG saying “Galing mo gumuhit! Buhay na buhay. 🤩”
So nung nabalitaan ko na may pacontest ang WIP about “Loonie Artworks” hindi na ako nagdalawang isip pa, I grabbed the opportunity and worked hard on it.
We love your art! How do you feel about us using your artwork on the tee?
Thank you very much 🥺! I have mixed emotions because I’ve never seen my artwork on a tee before. Also incredibly awesome! When I first saw the tee on your Instagram Story of the Backroom I felt like crying.
Thank you so much for the opportunity. I love it so much! ❤️
