We're proud to release our highly-anticipated collaboration with Respeto: a local independent film by Treb Monteras II that made waves since its premiere during the Cinemalaya film festival this year. The design takes it cues from the characters' personas: mirrored reflections of the concrete streets of Manila.
Starring Abra, Loonie and Dido Dela Paz, the movie shows an in-depth look into the daily struggles of Filipinos intermingled with their desire to find a means for pure self-expression and redemption through poetry and Hip-Hop in the underground scene. More than that, the film also tackles many socially relevant issues surrounding the trappings of poverty, violence and injustice.
Made from gray Melton Wool fabric, the 'Respeto' embroidery is highlighted with its unique sepia tone--complimenting the custom printed lining on the front panels that showcase the film's characters as found in the official movie poster created by local artists Vincent Aseo and Marjun Lazarte.
