Yesterday, we made our way to Intramuros, Manila.
We headed over to The Manila Collectible Co., found right behind the Manila Cathedral, to rediscover our roots and culture as Filipino people. The Manila Collectible is a one-stop shop for unique and locally crafted products that showcase our country’s originality and talent. Going through the entire room felt like an inspiring journey through our own heritage, paying tribute to our local indigenous tribes whose traditions bring life to beautiful art, fabrics, artifacts and sculptures.
The store was full of a wide variety of items, varying from handmade crafts, reproductions, ethnic attire, hand-woven textiles, organic food and products–and that’s just scratching the surface! We were privileged enough to have some of our products displayed next to the very items they were inspired by, and it brought to life more possibilities that we can project onto our own products in the near future.
We would like to thank Charisse Aquino for the warm welcome and giving us a wonderful tour of her shop! It brought us a new perspective of pride in who we are and where we come from.
You can now get WIP caps here as well! You can visit the Manila Collectible Co. at Cabildo cor. Beaterio, Intramuros (Behind Manila Cathedral), Manila. It’s definitely worth the trip!
After our fun history lesson, we went over to BRGY. 655 with Anygma & Bambu for their impromptu street workshop with the youths and their parents about music and sharpening their talents and minds through creative ways. Watch out for some of our video coverage of this soon!
This trip to Intramuros was an eye-opening and inspiring one, and we’re grateful to have spent the day with individuals who have been dedicating their hearts, minds and souls to their life’s passions and goals.
Big thanks to Charisse, Anygma, Bambu, the staff of The Manila Collectible and the friends we made at BRGY. 655!
We’ll definitely be back! :)
