Club9 x SG4L x WIP Caps Shaped Fingerboard Set. Artwork : Tranquility
A year ago, WIP Caps released a 3-way collaboration with Club9, a fingerboard company based in Pampanga together with our good friend and surrealist artist, Crist Espiritu.
The artworks used for that capsule collection were originally hand-painted on old skateboards and later exhibited in Crist's art show, Purgatory, held in Bunso Gallery
Earlier this year we put out a new capsule with Crist entitled MANIRA. Imagine a localized version of Godzilla terrorizing Metro Manila. Crist brought the idea to life
We spun WIP Caps' iconic MNL logo in Kanji to look like the title of a monster movieWe're a day away from releasing our second collaboration with Club9 and this time with our friend's skateshop SG4L TV in Cebu. We're excited to share this new shape and capsule. It consists of 2 shirt designs and the Club9 Shaped Fingerboard set in 32mm and 34mm variants
The artwork, Tranquility, is an interpretation of what Motic’s spirit animal would be. There are similarities in his traits and that of a turtle. We thought it was the perfect metaphor.
The skeleton was inspired by the legendary Zero Skateboards (Motic's current board sponsor), and if you look closely at the ripples on the water it spells out SG4L
Our limited edition capsule with Club9 and SG4L TV will be available online and in-store starting Oct. 4th (Saturday) at 12 noon
